After breakfast, we will drive from Kalay to Monywa via the picturesque GANGAW. It takes around 9 hour drive to reach our today’s destination. Have lunch on the way.
Arrive in MONYWA in late afternoon. Free at leisure. Overnight at hotel in Monywa.

This morning after breakfast at hotel , we are to drive to Mandalay . But we are doing sightings around Monywa before we start driving to Mandalay . we are to visit the highlights in Monywa including the famous Thamboddhay temple (Known as half million Buddha images) and Bawdi tahtaung, reclining and standing Buddha at site .
After that we start driving straight to Mandalay by passing through Sagaing ,a retreat for Buddhist devotees and knows as the centre of Buddhist religion due to a number of hundreds of monasteries and nunneries dotted all over the Sagaing Hill , Highlights in Sagaing include a visit to Buddhist nunnery to study Buddhist Nunnery way of lives , U Hmin Thone Zae Pagoda ( Thirty Cave Temple ) and to enjoy a magnificent view over the surrounding area form Pagoda Soon U Ponnya Shin. Then drive down to restaurant for lunch .

And then departure for Amarapura and continue to the 200- years –old U Bein Bridge, built in 1782 at the time of Amarapura was the royal capital ,entirely constructed by teakwood. Enjoy the sunset from U Bein Bridge and return to Mandalay and Overnight stay in Mandalay .

After breakfast , we are to take a boat ride to explore a little rural area of Mandalay . firstly you will be transferred to Mayangyan Jetty . on the way to Jetty , we will drop in colorful street market of Mandalay known to see the reality of way of lives in Mandalay then proceed to jetty for excursion to Mingun by boaton the Ayeyarwaddy River. The boat ride will take you to Mingun (45min approximately). Tour highlights in Mindgun include a visit to one of the world largest bell, weighing 90 tons Mingun Bell, Hsinbyume Paya with unique architectural design and the unfinished Mingun Paya known as the world’s biggest pile of brick in height of 50 meters and a visit to Home for old ages.
then return by boat to Mandalay. Upon arrival at Mandalay , take a lunch break and return to hotel for a short break.
Afternoon sightseeing begin with a visit to Shwenandaw monastery (or Golden Palace monastery) a superb example of a tradition work, and Kuthodaw Pagoda. The world’s largest book, consisting of 729 marble slabs engraved with Buddhist scriptures. Then drive up to Mandalay Hill
to enjoy the sunset and panoramic view of Mandalay from the top of Mandalay Hill then drive back to hotel and overnight stay in Mandalay.

Today we are moving to Bagan which is locally and globally known as The Archaeological Treasure Of Myanmar and recently recognized by UNESCO as one of the World’s Heritage Site . On the way to Bagan , we are to do excursion to the enchanting Mt. Popa, a great extinct volcano Mt. Popa, standing out as a green-clad landmark in the Dry Zone, is a situated on 15,00 meter-high and an extinct volcano and the famous Popa Taungkalat, a tower-like volcanic plug lying on the south-western slope of Mt. Popa. Then enjoy the scenic view of its surrounding from Popa Mountain Resort. Lunch break at Popa Mountain Resort.
After that we are moving to Bagan and on the way to Bagan , we will stop by toddy palm groves and jaggery cottage industry . Upon arrival to Bagan , check in hotel and enjoy the sunset from the best corer of Bagan . Overnight stay in Bagan .

After breakfast at hotel ,today we will be devoted to discover of Bagan “the mystic” extraordinary archaeological site that do not have anything to envy that of Angkor with its 3000 temples and starting a sightseeing tour with a visit to Nyaung Oo Colorful Market in Nyaung Oo region and a diverse selection of the most important pagodas and temples such as Shwezigon Pagoa, a prototype of later Myanmar stupas, built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th century, Wetkyi Inn Gubyaukgyi, fine mural paintings of Jataka scenes; and Htilominlo Pagoda, noted for its plaster curving, Ananda Temple, the best preserved masterpieces of Mon architecture and the Tharaba gate. Then take a lunch break at good local restaurant and then transfer back to hotel for refreshing and relaxing till afternoon sightseeing begin.
Later in the afternoon, visit lacquerware workshop and then visit Dhammayangyi, a missive temple from 12th century with it’s own architecture and temple liked Pyramid is outstanding among the other structures. Continue to Sularmuni Temple, , dating from 12th century and it is a nice place for photo stop. After that, We are moving to jetty from where to take the private sunset boat to enjoy the sunset from Ayeyarwaddy river . Overnight stay in Bagan .

Today we are heading off to Inle Lake located in Southern Shan State . Off course , that seems to be long drive but it is worth driving due to the beautiful scenery and amazing landscape and interesting tribal peoples .. Lunch break at good local restaurant on the way to Inle ,
After lunch, drive straight back to Nyaung Shwe known as the major gateway to Inle lake( which might take approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes) Inle Lake is one of Myanmar’s best-known sights. The Intha people, a tribe of Mon descent, mostly inhabit the lakeshores and floating villages. On arrival at Nyaung Shwe , transfer to boat stand in Nyaung Shwe and directly transfer to your hotel in Ine lake and overnight stay in Nyaung Shwe , Inle Lake .

After breakfast, transfer to jetty and take a boat ride for full day sightseeing in Inle lake. you can start your lake exploration to one of the local five-day markets ( if market day is coincided with your stay in Inle lake , and the highlights include Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda which enshrines the famous five Buddha statues who are totally covered by gold and lost their shapes, the unique leg rowers and floating gardens, silk weaving village ( Inpaw Khone Village ) and then lunch break at good local restaurant in Inle lake.
After lunch . We are to continue excursion to Hand rolled ciger making factory , Black smith factory and Nga Phae Chaung monastery; well known for its ancient Buddha images made of teak, bamboo and lacquer and its nickname is “Jumping Cats Monastery” for its trained cats by monks to jump into the hoop. You are also to visit the stilt houses to observe the life style of the water dweller and floating gardens corner of Inle lake .then return to your hotel and Overnight stay in Nyaung Shwe , Inle lake.

The trip from Inle Lake to Loikaw is an easy three-hour journey by road. As the jumping-off point to visit the Kayan Lahwi tribe, it's a beautiful place and one of the must see destinations in Myanmar . The distance is roughly 150 kilometers. Although it's close, the drive can take up to 3.5 hours due to road conditions. On the way , we are to drop in mysterious village called “Samkar”. Previously, when princes Sawbwa ruled the territory, Samkar used to be a principality, having its own prince. By one all is left of Samkar are ancient pagodas and monasteries, and the once bury town is now a village hidden away from the world and almost forgotten. Nowadays, the areas are inhabited by Pa O, as hard working as they are good-hearted. And then we are to continue moving to Loikaw. Upon arrival to Loikaw , we are driving straight to the Kayan (Padaung) villages of Pan Pet. Padaung women, sometimes known as 'giraffe women' or 'long-necked women', traditionally wear a great many brass rings around their necks and ankles, starting from the age of six or seven, and added each year. The original purpose was to repel prospective kidnappers. Today only elderly women still wear these rings, as the younger generation no longer follows the tradition.
After that drive back to Loikaw Town and enjoy the sunset from the top of Thirimingala Pagoda (Taung Kwe Zedi) which is in the centre of town there is an impressive rock on which stands. It is a great place for a great view over the city and the nearby hills. Overnight stay in Loikaw

Today we will continue driving to Taungoo believed to be Ancient Capital Of Myanmar in 16th Century located a city in central Myanmar between Yangon and Naypyitaw, 220 km away from Yangon with mountain ranges to its east and west. Forestry products, teak and other hardwoods are the main industries in Taungoo.
Overnight stay in Taungoo .

Today we are driving to Golden Rock by passing through Bago formerly known as Pegu. It is a city and the capital of Bago Region in Myanmar. It is located 80 km (about 50 miles) from Yangon It has a population of 220,000. Being an ancient capital of Mon Kingdom in 15th century, you can enjoy the Bago sightseeing including ancient Buddha Images. Most sightseeing is Shwethalyaung Reclining Buddha (55 metres long), Shwemawdaw Pagoda, and 28 meter high huge Buddha Image of Kyaikpun Pagoda with its four huge Buddha Images facing the cardinal points and the one interest place is Kanbawzathardi Palace. On the way , we will take a short break for lunch and then continue driving to Golden Rock This miracle Pagoda is situated in Mon State, regarded as one of the most sacred pagodas along with Shwedagon from Yangon and Maha Muni from Mandalay. It is also believed the hair relic of the Buddha was enshrined in the huge rock which is hanging and balancing on the edge of the cliff..
Upon arrival to Golden Rock , we will stay overnight at hotel in Kin Pum Base Camp .

This morning , we are to wake up early to go up to the top of Golden Rock by taking the uphill truck . Taking uphill truck to the top of Golden Rock may take the approximately 50 minutes so as to pay a visit to the famous “Golden Rock Pagoda” This miracle Pagoda is situated in Mon State, regarded as one of the most sacred pagodas along with Shwedagon from Yangon and Maha Muni from Mandalay. It is also believed the hair relic of the Buddha was enshrined in the huge rock which is hanging and balancing on the edge of the cliff.. Enjoy and overlook the magnificence view of the surrounding area then we are to take the downhill truck to the base camp . after that we all are to continue driving straight to Hpa Ann .
Hpa-An, This area is filled with limestone karsts that jut out from the ground rising up to the highest of all – Mt Zwegabin. Next, visit the nearby Yathebyan cave with its wide open mouth overlooking the plains below and great for photos. Later as the sun begins to fade, hop on a boat for a sunset cruise down the Thanlywin River.

Today we are driving straight to Myawaddy which is one of Myanmar and Thailand Border Check Point from where you are leaving Myanmar to enter into Thailand for your next adventure .

Is it safe to drive in Myanmar ?

Driving in Myanmar is a challenging and risky undertaking. Local driving standards are poor because many drivers are not trained and do not adhere to normal road rules. Local vehicles are not well maintained, may have bald tyres and many would not be roadworthy by the standards of your own country. Roads often are potholed, broken up or are only gravel and dirt. Due to its very nature, the risk of accident and personal injury to you is significantly higher than normal.

You will also have to contend with lifestyles and cultures that are very different from your own. You must come prepared to cope with unpredictable situations, local inadequacies and unforeseeable events. Even with our detailed organization, things can go wrong. Many places where we travel do not have the same infrastructure or health & safety standards as those in Western Europe or North America. It is your responsibility to read your own country’s government advice and warnings for each area that we visit and be satisfied that you are prepared to travel there.

The enjoyment and excitement of adventure travel is derived in the part from the inherent risks incurred by driving through the less well developed countries/regions listed on the itineraries and undertaking activities beyond the levels of safety normal at home or at work. Therefore, our expeditions are not suitable for people who expect to be indulged or demand for everything to go exactly as planned. How much driving experience do I need to join an expedition?

Drivers must be a minimum of 21 years of age. We expect you to be a confident and competent driver, with plenty of driving experience. You should normally have held your driver’s license for a minimum of two years. Please also note that all of our expeditions include sections of gravel or dirt roads, as stated in the Expedition Summary. We never travel off road; it is simply that there are sections where the road is not paved.

Can i bring my own vehicle ?

Yes you can! However, if you are bringing your own vehicle, it must be pre-approved by us to ensure that is suitable for your chosen Expedition. Also, you must be the legal owner of the vehicle or have written authority from the vehicle owner, with the requisite paperwork showing ownership. You must also ensure that your vehicle has appropriate luggage space that is capable of carrying your personal belongings for the whole journey.

Can you provide me with the vehicle ?

Of course, we would love to! Myanmar Caravan Tour can hire you a vehicle for your chosen expedition. Our rates are per day from the official start date to the official end date of the expedition. All our vehicles are shipped out to the start of an expedition (if applicable) and freighted back at the end. The freight is included in the price you pay for the expedition.

Which documents do i need ?

You must hold a full passport that is valid for at least six months after the end of your chosen expedition and has sufficient pages for visas (if applicable) and all country entry and exit stamps. We will guide you through the process of obtaining documentation for your vehicle. You must have the registration document for your vehicle, which is in your name and shows your current address.

Do i need travel insurance ?

It is a pre-condition for booking that you have comprehensive travel insurance, including coverage for driving a vehicle of the appropriate engine size. If you cannot prove that you have insurance, you will not be allowed on an expedition. You must ensure that you have a policy designed for adventure travel that will cover you for personal accident, medical and repatriation costs, loss, damage and theft of personal belongings and for cancellation or curtailment.

How long does the immigration clearance take at the border gate?

Entry clearance may varies, it usually takes about 10-15 minutes. However, there are a few cases when the entry clearance took up to a few hours. Exit clearance are usually quicker.For entry clearance with MTT permission at China or India borders, the assisting guide will present all the paper work to the border port in advanced before your planned arrival time. After the immigration and Custom clearances, the guide can also help with organizing transports etc whether you travel to the main land with them or not.

When is the best time to arrive at the border gate for the entry?

We suggest that you arrive as early as possible at the border port, between 8:30 and 9:30 AM. Below are the estimated driving time between destinations. Please note that bigger vehicles may take longer.
