After a few minutes break, we will head to Hpa Ann .Hpa-An, This area is filled with limestone karsts that jut out from the ground rising up to the highest of all – Mt Zwegabin. This afternoon explore Kaw Gon cave where hundreds of small Buddha images are hewn into the rock face and wild monkeys swing from the trees. Next, visit the nearby Yathebyan cave with its wide open mouth overlooking the plains below and great for photos. Later as the sun begins to fade, hop on a boat for a sunset cruise down the Thanlywin River. Overnight stay in Hpa Ann.

Today we are driving to Golden Rock This miracle Pagoda is situated in Mon State, regarded as one of the most sacred pagodas along with Shwedagon from Yangon and Maha Muni from Mandalay. It is also believed the hair relic of the Buddha was enshrined in the huge rock which is hanging and balancing on the edge of the cliff .
Upon arrival to the base camp of Golden Rock where you take your seat and join the pilgrims on ride up the winding mountain road in the back of a large truck. The journey takes just under an hour to reach the top, as the road is only open to one-way traffic. At the top there is a festive type atmosphere as you walk about 20 minutes through worshipping pilgrims, vendors, food stalls and makeshift shrines to reach the rock. Covered in gold leaf the rock dazzles as it changes colours throughout the day.

Today we are to move to Naypyidaw NAYPYIDAW. It takes about five hours and a half (280km) to drive from Bagan to Naypyidaw via mainly the highway road. On the way, make a stop to visit a palm tree workshop, see how villagers get juice from palm tree, make candy, wine from palm juice. Have lunch at local restaurant along the way.
Upon arrival at the Naypyidaw capital, visit Uppatasanti Pagoda. Then drive to your hotel for check in. The rest of the day is spent at leisure. Overnight stay in Naypyidaw.

Today we are to continue our journey to Bagan which is believed to be one of holy religious site and archeological treasure of Myanmar where number thousands of religious monuments have been built . On the way , we are to stop by some local village to meet the local people of country sites and upon arrival to Bagan , we are to enjoy the sunset from the best corner of Bagan . Overnight stay in Bagan .

After breakfast at hotel ,today we will be devoted to discover of Bagan “the mystic” extraordinary archaeological site that do not have anything to envy that of Angkor with its 3000 temples and starting a sightseeing tour with a visit to Nyaung Oo Colorful Market in Nyaung Oo region and a diverse selection of the most important pagodas and temples such as Shwezigon Pagoa, a prototype of later Myanmar stupas, built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th century, Wetkyi Inn Gubyaukgyi, fine mural paintings of Jataka scenes; and Htilominlo Pagoda, noted for its plaster curving, Ananda Temple, the best preserved masterpieces of Mon architecture and the Tharaba gate. Then take a lunch break at good local restaurant and then transfer back to hotel for refreshing and relaxing till afternoon sightseeing begin.
Later in the afternoon, visit lacquerware workshop and then visit Dhammayangyi, a missive temple from 12th century with it’s own architecture and temple liked Pyramid is outstanding among the other structures. Continue to Sularmuni Temple, , dating from 12th century and it is a nice place for photo stop. After that, We are moving to jetty from where to take the private sunset boat to enjoy the sunset from Ayeyarwaddy river . Overnight stay in Bagan .

After breakfast, we will start the driving to the enchanting Mt. Popa, a great extinct volcano situated about 67 km , it takes one hour drive from southeast of Bagan via Kyaukpadaung. Mt. Popa, standing out as a green-clad landmark in the Dry Zone, is a situated on 15,00 meter-high and an extinct volcano.. Tour highlights: toddy palm groves and jaggery cottage industry; and the famous Popa Taungkalat, a tower-like volcanic plug lying on the south-western slope of Mt. Popa. Then enjoy the scenic view of its surrounding from Popa Mountain Resort. Lunch break at local restaurant in Popa . after that we will continue moving to Mandalay , Upon arrival to Mandalay , we are driving straight to Mandalay Hill from where we are to enjoy the sunset and Panoramic View Of Mandalay . Overnight stay in Mandalay .

After breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to the jetty to take a ferry boat to Mingun, 11 km upriver from Mandalay on the western bank of Ayeyarwaddy River. After taking the boat trip for about 45 minutes, you can walk and start your tour includes the Mingun Pagoda, unfinished pagoda which might have been the biggest pagoda in the history of Buddhism, Mingun bell, the world largest ringing bell, and Myatheindan Pagoda. Then,stream down to Ava and lunch is arranged on boat . Upon arrival at Ava the former Royal Capital of INWA (AVA) Visits by horse-drawn carriage include NanMyint Watch Tower, the remains of the palace building nicknamed "the leaning tower of Ava" MahaAung Myay Bone Zan Monastery, built of brick and stucco and Bagayar Monastery, famous for its impressive ornate woodcarvings and teak posts. Then continue U Bein Bridge, at 1.2km the world’s longest teak footbridge. It's a hugely photogenic structure. It stretches across Thaungthaman Lake it comes alive in every sense as dust approaches. After that drive back to Hotel and overnight stay in Mandalay

This morning, depart Mandalay for a 3-hour drive to Monywa, a typical Burmese town on the banks of the Chindwin River. We will make a few stops along the way to stretch our legs and take photos.
We’ll reach Monywa at around 11AM and sightseeing around Monywa. We’ll begin with a visit to Thanboddhay Pagoda, a huge Buddhist temple covered with more than 500,000 Buddha images. Also stop at Boditahtaung Pagoda which houses the largest reclining Buddha image in Myanmar, at 100m long and 27m high. Nearby is the largest standing Buddha in the world, Laykyun Setkyar, at 423 feet in height.
At the afternoon, proceed to Po Win Taung (approximately 1 hour drive). This extraordinary complex consists of 947 sandstone caves dug out of the hills and contains what is considered by archaeologists to be the richest collection of mural paintings and Buddhist statues in Southeast Asia.
We’ll return back to your hotel in Monywa and overnight stay in Monywa

After breakfast, we will drive from Monywa to Kalay via the picturesque GANGAW. It takes around 9 hour drive to reach our today’s destination. Have lunch on the way.

Is it safe to drive in Myanmar ?

Driving in Myanmar is a challenging and risky undertaking. Local driving standards are poor because many drivers are not trained and do not adhere to normal road rules. Local vehicles are not well maintained, may have bald tyres and many would not be roadworthy by the standards of your own country. Roads often are potholed, broken up or are only gravel and dirt. Due to its very nature, the risk of accident and personal injury to you is significantly higher than normal.

You will also have to contend with lifestyles and cultures that are very different from your own. You must come prepared to cope with unpredictable situations, local inadequacies and unforeseeable events. Even with our detailed organization, things can go wrong. Many places where we travel do not have the same infrastructure or health & safety standards as those in Western Europe or North America. It is your responsibility to read your own country’s government advice and warnings for each area that we visit and be satisfied that you are prepared to travel there.

The enjoyment and excitement of adventure travel is derived in the part from the inherent risks incurred by driving through the less well developed countries/regions listed on the itineraries and undertaking activities beyond the levels of safety normal at home or at work. Therefore, our expeditions are not suitable for people who expect to be indulged or demand for everything to go exactly as planned. How much driving experience do I need to join an expedition?

Drivers must be a minimum of 21 years of age. We expect you to be a confident and competent driver, with plenty of driving experience. You should normally have held your driver’s license for a minimum of two years. Please also note that all of our expeditions include sections of gravel or dirt roads, as stated in the Expedition Summary. We never travel off road; it is simply that there are sections where the road is not paved.

Can i bring my own vehicle ?

Yes you can! However, if you are bringing your own vehicle, it must be pre-approved by us to ensure that is suitable for your chosen Expedition. Also, you must be the legal owner of the vehicle or have written authority from the vehicle owner, with the requisite paperwork showing ownership. You must also ensure that your vehicle has appropriate luggage space that is capable of carrying your personal belongings for the whole journey.

Can you provide me with the vehicle ?

Of course, we would love to! Myanmar Caravan Tour can hire you a vehicle for your chosen expedition. Our rates are per day from the official start date to the official end date of the expedition. All our vehicles are shipped out to the start of an expedition (if applicable) and freighted back at the end. The freight is included in the price you pay for the expedition.

Which documents do i need ?

You must hold a full passport that is valid for at least six months after the end of your chosen expedition and has sufficient pages for visas (if applicable) and all country entry and exit stamps. We will guide you through the process of obtaining documentation for your vehicle. You must have the registration document for your vehicle, which is in your name and shows your current address.

Do i need travel insurance ?

It is a pre-condition for booking that you have comprehensive travel insurance, including coverage for driving a vehicle of the appropriate engine size. If you cannot prove that you have insurance, you will not be allowed on an expedition. You must ensure that you have a policy designed for adventure travel that will cover you for personal accident, medical and repatriation costs, loss, damage and theft of personal belongings and for cancellation or curtailment.

How long does the immigration clearance take at the border gate?

Entry clearance may varies, it usually takes about 10-15 minutes. However, there are a few cases when the entry clearance took up to a few hours. Exit clearance are usually quicker.For entry clearance with MTT permission at China or India borders, the assisting guide will present all the paper work to the border port in advanced before your planned arrival time. After the immigration and Custom clearances, the guide can also help with organizing transports etc whether you travel to the main land with them or not.

When is the best time to arrive at the border gate for the entry?

We suggest that you arrive as early as possible at the border port, between 8:30 and 9:30 AM. Below are the estimated driving time between destinations. Please note that bigger vehicles may take longer.
